Carlos Vazquez's Biography

Carlos Vazquez

Carlos Vazquez

Principal
Dichotomy Consulting
USA

Carlos A. Vazquez is the founder of Dichotomy Consulting, a firm specializing in social media strategy. The founding of Dichotomy is the natural evolution of a career in advertising, marketing, and publishing spanning 20 years.

From his early days working for two-time F1 World Champion Emerson Fittipaldi's auto accessories business, where he achieved the title of Advertising Manager at the age of 22, to his seven-year run as Miami Ad School's first Director of Education, Carlos' career has been defined by his work ethic, his command of the written word, and his mastery of technology in the service of communication.

In between Carlos went from publishing "he was the first Production Manager for Juxtapoz Art & Culture Magazine" to the tip of the spear of the advertising world, spending time in San Juan, San Francisco, Chicago, New York, and Seoul working for firms including Direct Partners, Ogilvy & Mather, Leo Burnett, and TBWA\Chiat\Day as Copywriter and Associate Creative Director.

His time at Miami Ad School was marked by many milestones. Carlos helped to develop the curriculum that made the school the most-awarded institution of its kind in the world. He implemented an all-new digital infrastructure for all US locations, helped to develop the school's Web site and student intranet, and he was and continues to be the architect of their very successful social media efforts. And, most rewarding of all, Carlos guided a few hundred aspiring copywriters as they took their first steps on the way to successful careers.

Carlos, his wife, and their two Chihuahuas live in Tampa, Florida. In what spare time he has, Carlos enjoys spy thrillers, Formula One racing, photography, and his first love writing about himself in the third person.
