Pushkar Sane Chief Digital Officer (North & South Asia) Starcom MediaVest Group Hong Kong Pushkar Sane is the Chief Digital Officer (North & South Asia) for Starcom MediaVest Group and also provides strategic guidance to building social capabilities across the globe. He helps marketers to navigate through the digitized world and create ideas that build brand value. He also enables them to personally learn more about new technologies & bring alive the implications for their brands & businesses. He is responsible for driving business, client relationships, talent development and building capabilities that help in keeping SMG ahead of the digital curve. He strongly believes that the future is not about digital marketing in silo but digitization of marketing. Sane’s journey with the Internet started 20 years ago and he has been fortunate to see Internet evolving in different shapes and forms – from information to interactivity and from communication to social. He has the unique distinction of working in and learning from three Billion plus markets – China, India and the Internet. He also brings rich cultural and business insights by virtue of having worked across Asia Pacific markets. A strong believer in integration Sane has successfully dabbled with almost all the functions in modern advertising & communications business by having worked in different roles in Account Management, Strategy, Digital, CRM, Data, Analytics, Technology and Media. Over last 13 years he has gained valuable business understanding by virtue of working with Clients from diverse industry sectors, world-?class brands and geographies. Sane has managed teams of talented people from different nationalities, and respect and appreciate cultural differences. This diverse background has always helped him in tackling business challenges in rapidly developing APAC Markets. Previously Sane worked for FCB (now DRAFTFCB) in India & Hong Kong and Euro RSCG Worldwide in Hong Kong. A frequent speaker at various industry events, Sane also writes regularly and is now a columnist for ClickZ’s newly launched Asian edition. He is also actively involved with various industry initiatives ranging from education to measurement and provides expert opinions to various analysts tracking the industry. Sane holds a Bachelor of Science in Physics, a Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications from MS University of Baroda (India) and a Post Graduate Diploma in Advertising & Communications Management (MBA) from NMIMS Mumbai (India). He attended Publicis Executive Management Program at INSEAD with a focus on Leadership Development & General Management. He lives in Hong Kong with his wife Bashuli and is passionate about Travelling, Photography, Reading and Technology.
