Gitanjali Sriram Founding Partner Naked Comm India Gita began her career at Paramount Inc. in the US in 1989, as a Marketing Intern while she was still a junior in college. She went on to working with them full-time as a Marketing Assistant & Research Executive. In 1991, she graduated with a B.Sc. in Marketing & Finance and shortly after, moved to India to join Titan Industries, India's first quartz watch company, in the capacity of a Brand Manager, looking after new products such as Tanishq, their jewelry brand and a specialty women's range called Raga. Three years later she was hired by Nestle India as Senior Brand Manger for Maggi to help reposition the brand & in 1996, she joined Revlon as the National Franchise Director to help them launch the brand in India. Gita moved to Hong Kong in 1998 and joined the team at chinadotcom Corporation as a Producer. She was responsible for launching and maintaining their three English-language portals. In 2001, she went to work for herself as an Internet Consultant, providing strategic expertise and content advice to large portals across Asia, primarily in the areas of broadband and SMS-related products. Gita moved to Malaysia in 2003, and joined Leo Burnett Advertising shortly after, as Director, Strategic Planning. A year later, she helped launch Arc, LeoBurnett's marketing services arm. She then took over as their Business Director, overseeing all aspects of the business: interactive, CRM, events and shopper marketing. In May 2006 Gita took on the role of GM of Arc HK. She then moved to Tokyo in Sept 2007 as the Engagement Business Director of the Marketing Services division of beacon communications. At the end of 2008, Gita got the opportunity to return to India as the Channel Planning Director at Lowe Lintas, and soon after was approached by Naked Communications to head their foray into India. This is an opportunity she had been seeking for years. As part of the Naked Communications family, she has found the perfect platform to engage & grow with one of the most progressive markets in the world. In the course of her agency career, Gita has worked on renowned global & local brands (P&G, Unilever, McD's, Philip Morris, Diageo, Coke, Nike, Petronas, Malaysia Airlines, Dutch Lady, CSL mobile, Disney, ICICI, Channel V) and has taken on strategic roles in planning, retail, CRM, digital & promotions. When not at work, she enjoys being a mum to her 2 young daughters, and is training to get her blue belt in taekwondo.
